SL76/149

Readers of my books and pieces on Lola T70s may remember that about eighteen months ago, I sold 1969 Lola T70, chassis number SL76/149, to one of Predator Performance’s good customers.

This was the T70 driven so ably in vintage/historic races by Bob Akin who had it painted red, with a yellow stripe. The current owner has taken my advice and Predator, in the shape of David Hinton, is overseeing the car’s return to it’s original color scheme of very light green, with black accents.

The only things missing then will be trademark “periscope” air intakes atop the cockpit roof that the original owner, Mike de Udy, used to try and get some cool air into the cockpit. As I can well attest, with a race tuned Chevy V8 sitting inches from your backbone, the cockpit of a T70 coupe can be a very warm place!
