Lola T70 Spyders
SL70/9
Chevrolet 5.3-liter engine.
SL70/9 was invoiced to J. Fulp, Jr. (Buck) of Anderson, South Carolina U.S.A. on 24/5/65: No gearbox number is recorded in the Lola records. Royal Blue. This was Buck Fulp’s first T70 (he bought a Mark II to race later in 1965).
We do not know what happened to it after 1966, but it turned up with Bill Kruger in 1973 in sorry condition and he sold it to Dave Posey for just $600.00! Dave restored the car and has enjoyed vintage racing it for many years.
1965:
01/5: Times GP, Riverside: Fulp, #8; 1st.
27/6: Watkins Glen: Fulp; DNF.
01/8: Northwest GP, Kent: Fulp, #26; DNF.
19/9: Bridgehampton 500 K’s: Fulp; DNF. Steering broken?
9/12: Nassau Int. Trophy: Fulp; DNF.
1966: Riverside as spare car.
Possibly traded to John Mecom.
1973: Sold to Bill Kruger. One race only, chassis damage.
1974: Sold to Dave Posey in the U.S.A. $600.00.
Restored.
