Lola T70 Spyders
SL71/19

Gearbox No: LG500-40.
12/1965: Sold to the Racing Partnership Team (Jersey) for Tony Sergeant/Hugh Dibley. Green.

Tony Sargent of Jersey bought SL71/19 and shared it with Hugh Dibley and Mac Daghorn. /19 did well in England before it was sent over to Canada for the new Can Am series.
/19 was crashed at the 1966 Can-Am practice at Mont Tremblant-St. Jovite when it flipped onto its back after cresting a rise. The engine was removed and put into Hugh Dibley’s T70, and the chassis of /19 was left in Canada, where it resulted in the Canadian Customs sending demands for import duty to Tony Sargent for many years!
Judging by the one photograph of the crash, the car was not that badly damaged and it was afterwards sold to Paul Canary as a restoration project. Since then, it has resurfaced in California.
