Sold to Robert Brown. Chevrolet engine.

Sold to Robert Brown, SL71/29 took part in just two Can Am races in late 1966.
At the end of 1966, the car was being transported to Nassau, when a cigarette was dropped onto a car cover in the cockpit. The Lola caught fire and was burned out. Only a few gearbox parts were left and they were sold.
1966. 'Ringfree motor oil special'.
18/9: Can-Am round 2. Bridgehampton: Brown, # 00; 2nd in qualifying heat. Main race: 13th OA.
25/9: Can-Am round 3. Mosport Park, Toronto: Robert Brown, #00; 8th OA.

SL71/30
29/5/66: Sold to Umberto Maglioli of Italy. Chevrolet 5.9-liter engine. No gearbox.
Nothing is known about SL71/30 until 1969 when Umberto Maglioli, the famous Ferrari long distance driver of the 1950s and ‘60’s, sold it on to Dill Pell, an Englishman who took the car to New Zealand. He in turn sold it on to Jim Boyd, who scored several victories with it over the next two years.
In 1971, /30 was crashed at Timaru and then hit by an errant Corvette. It was sold to Baron Robertson who intended to rebuild it as a road car. Partially rebuilt by Travis McGregor, /30 was sold to Lex Emslie and then sold to Norm Masters/Brian Middlemass in Balclutha.
Today, it has been completely restored.
