There are few sports prototypes in Sportscar racing as famous as the Porsche 962. Perhaps only the 917, its Porsche-built predecessor of the late 1960s, compares with the winning record of the 956/962 family. But remind yourself, the 917 only raced for four years in the World Championship (1968-72) before it was rendered obsolete by the rule makers. The 956/962 raced from 1982 to 1993 in World Championship and IMSA races and dominated both Championships for six years, on both sides of the Atlantic. In fact, the 962 was still competitive when the Championships were coming to an end.

The car we offer today is a proper, Porsche-built car (including the chassis), has a fine record in both Europe (placing tenth at the Le Mans 24 Hours twice) and America (coming in second and third overall at Daytona 24 Hours in 1987 and 1989). It was one of Walter Brun’s team cars and later on leased to MOMO owner Gianpiero Moretti. In 1987 and 1988, it was hard charger Oscar Larrauri’s car.

The car is very original, still with its correct 3.0 liter air/water engine, and has benefited from a complete overhaul within the last twelve months.
