During 1970 and 1971, Porsche 917K's were raced by three teams which enjoyed full works support and , between them, they manages to account for every 917 victory in the manufacturers championship in those years. they were Porsche Salzburg, Martini Racing and JW Automotive Engineering Ltd. whose cars raced in the famous "Gulf" liveries.
