The superb combination of Tony Brooks and the DBR1 defeated the might of Ferrari and Maserati at the Nurburgring for the 1957 1000kms, with Noel Cunningham-Reid doing a fine back-up job for Brooks. Tony Brooks made a superb start, diving across the noses of the Moss and Schell Maserati's.
